Anti-Nuclear Demonstrations in Turkey last year. Currently Turkey has no nuclear power plants, but is scheduled to begin construction on it’s first plant in 2013.
The design being used for the Akkuyu plant is a design that has never been used before, and will be built with no cooling tanks.
There has been great opposition to power plants in Turkey since the idea was first proposed in the early 70’s.
I’m thinking we need to bring a peace walk into Turkey…
A nineteen-day walk from Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant in NH to Plymouth Nuclear Power Plant in Plymouth, MA on the anniversary of the catastrophe at Fukushima, Japan and ending the walk in Vernon, VT at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant.
